Why Project Education Without Borders
PEWB was created by Congression District Programs, Inc to address the numerous issues of education facing African children, especially those in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. As human beings, we have a moral obligation to make sure those kids who are suffering, neglected, left on streets or enrolled in rebel armies they are taking care of.
Friends, we have to care the world is becoming small, interconnected, and interdependent. What happens far way in Africa or elsewhere impacts here in many ways. As the former Senator from Kansas, Mr. BoB Dole once rightful said " education is the compass of this huge and complicated jungle we are living in called planet Earth, with education here we are all lost". Everyone must have the right to be educated, a practical way to fight poverty, ignorance, and sickness.
Think once about these facts: In the Congo, more than 5millions lives were lost in senseless wars that still going on in Eastern province of Congo. Women and children continue to be the first victims of these armed conflicts. Hundreds of thousands children are now orphans, living on street and or in displaced settlements. Many of these children are now enrolled by force in rebels groups who are fighting for mineral fields. Given the number of lives lost, how many orphans are in DR of Congo? How many among those kids do you think have a minimum chance to go to school? And which school to go to since the destruction is total and visible? The answer lies in our hands, yours and mine to help these kids go back to school or learning basic professional skills.
That it is why the " Project Education Without Borders" was created. Join us by contributing in any way you can, your involvement is welcomed.
